Which is the "Community Gardens Crisis Assistance Relief To End Hunger Project" is designed to promote/ encourage healthy eating habits and lifestyles among those in impoverished communities. In effort to 'lead by example' A Grateful Mind is implementing a campaign on "Ending Hunger the Healthy Way" in the Central Florida region.
This is still a work in progress. Adopt-A-Plot your family, friends or co-workers. Bring your gloves and favorite yard tool to enjoy a few Saturdays in garden to help on a community project!
There is always a need for a few extra:
- Black Trash Bags
- Shovels, Garden Rakes & Garden Hoes...with so many hands using what we have they are often broken.
Our Community food garden (in conjunction with the non perishable foods we distribute through our Emergency Food Distributions to families and our 'Meals On Wheels For The Homeless' mobile food program that also serves the many needs of the unsheltered homeless that are experiencing a crisis will provide a more steady stream of food to distribute to the needy individuals and families through our aforementioned programs. One of our primary goals is to make sure everyone that ask A Grateful Mind for food can eat.
