Our Fall "5K Race To End Homelessness" will be in November 2013. Reaching our goal will enable us to prevent families in need of Emergency Financial Assistance from becoming homeless.  Please check back for details on our 5K Run/Walk that will be posted soon.

Seed – Time & Harvest, Let our Gardens Grow!



In our efforts to provide crisis assistance to the men, women & children in Central Florida, we often struggle trying to obtain continuous food sources to feed families during our Emergency Food Distributions. One answer to this problem we discovered that would enable us – in time to provide a sustainable source of food to the homeless and impoverished communities we serve is to create a “Community Garden”. Community gardens not only provide the community at large with a means to lead healthier lifestyles by growing your own nutritious food; but they also serve so many other purposes, such as improving the environment, bonding with nature, forming friendships, and building an overall positive -community spirit.



Let’s work together in creating this garden with the hopes of:

1. Providing a steady stream of food (just as God designed it) to feed hungry men, women & children through our Emergency Food Distribution Program.
2. Provide those in the community who have limited to no access to healthy foods or money to buy enough fresh food an opportunity to obtain it right in their own neighborhoods.
3. Have a “First Fruits Friday” where the residence of the host-community can ‘bring their own bag’ on a specified Friday and pick from the garden nutritious foods to take back to their homes to feed their families and
4. Local food suppliers can buy locally to replenish our community’s economy – hence giving back to the community within the community.

We’re excited and are set to plant our first seeds in the Fall on Sunday, September 22, 2013 in the Holden Heights Community; but there’s so much to do before then and we need your help!... {continued here}

Connect with us on the 3rd Sunday & 5th Saturday of each month  as we prepare 'to go' food bags to deliver to our area's homeless in Central Florida through out the year.
